Emotional health and happiness depend on nurturing the real self, the source of one's primary needs and feelings. When we neglect this essential task, our ability to love and work is compromised. Depression, anxiety and compulsive behaviors are often signs of alienation from the self. In my work, I integrate psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness, and experiential techniques to help each client's real self emerge and develop.
My focus is not on excavating the past but on exploring and addressing current problems in living. This can reveal unconscious patterns of thought and behavior that inhibit the natural capacity for healing and growth. By helping you discover and change these patterns, therapy can be a catalyst for personal transformation. It can help you overcome challenges and create a productive, satisfying life, in alignment with your deepest values.
"Therapy is the client’s process, not the therapist’s procedure." — Eugene Gendlin
"The heart of the matter is simple, fundamental, and often totally overlooked - the true home of each of us is in inner experiencing. Thus the true mission of psychotherapy is to affect that experiencing in ways which improve the quality of life for the person." — James Bugental
